Performs highly complex microelectronic engineering functions which may include theoretical development, conceptualization, design, implementation, simulation, software, assembly, test or analysis in one or more of the following sub-group specializations: Advanced Technology, Assembly Laboratory, Integrated Circuits, Signals and Interconnects, Systems, Test Laboratory. Uses project management principles and tools to manage own progress and the development of new projects. Applies technical knowledge and experience to architect highly complex engineering tasks and system design using state-of-the-art tools. Works under minimal supervision on multiple projects, and provides input for new projects. Participates in design reviews of own and other projects. Obtains materials required to complete projects. Analyzes output data, documents and reports results. Generates papers and presentations, performs required travel. Interfaces with other team members, collaborators, and government contacts. Frequently enhances the state-of-the-art in the field.
Bachelor’s of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (may include other SPPDG research oriented fields) or equivalent experience required. Typically requires 8-12 years of engineering experience.
Must possess experience in RF/Millimeter Wave IC design, including design of high frequency power amplifiers, low-noise amplifiers, mixers, and switches. Experience in various aspects of IC design, including simulation, physical layout, and electromagnetic modeling of passive devices and transmission lines. Familiarity with various semiconductor technologies, such as CMOS, SOI, SiGe, and GaN. Must have experience with EDA design, simulation, and modeling software tools such as Cadence Virtuoso and/or Spectre/SpectreRF, Microwave Office, Keysight Advanced Design Systems (ADS), Sonnet, and/or Ansys HFSS.

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $4159.20, based on a full-time position.
